Ingredients

  • 3 pounds apples, I used honey crisp
  • cup apple cider
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Wash and peel your apples. Once peeled, since them into medium size pieces. I used an apple corer and slicer in one and it really made things much easier. From there I just cut the slices in half.
  • Add the sliced apples to a dutch oven or large pot.
  • Pour the apple cider, honey, lemon juice and ground cinnamon over the top, then toss to combine.
  • Cover and simmer for 15-18 minutes or until the apples are cooked through and broken down.
  • At this point, you can either leave it chunky or break down the larger pieces using an immersion blender or mini chopper.
  • Serve warm or cold.
