One of the things I love most about this recipe is how quick it is to put together. If you don't have much time on your hands or need a fast dinner at the end of a busy day, it's absolutely ideal. You can also make the same recipe using chicken, if pork isn't your thing.

Pan frying them in a combination of olive oil and butter, gives them great flavor and keeps them juicy. And the best part is, they literally fry up in just a few minutes! You can even prep them in advance, then just fry when you're ready.

Serve them with your favorite side (some great ideas are suggested below) and dinner is on the table! They are so fresh, tender and juicy! They're also low in carbs and are gluten-free.

🔪 How to Make Pan Fried Pork Chops

Take your pork chops and sprinkle the salt and pepper over both sides.

6 raw pork chops on cutting board with salt and pepper

In a bowl, add in the pork panko, almond flour, dried parsley and garlic powder, then whisk to combine.

Add the beaten eggs to a separate bowl.  Take each pork chop and dip it into the egg, allowing any excess to drip off.

Then dip into the breading mixture, making sure to get just a light coating, so avoid pressing them into the breading.

Heat a large skillet to medium and add in the butter and olive oil.

Once hot, add in your pork chops, which you will likely need to fry in 2 batches, depending on the size of your chops.

Fry for 3-4 minutes on each side or until they reach an internal temperature of at least 145°F, when checked with a meat thermometer.

Allow the pork chops to rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.  Add a squeeze of lemon juice over the tops and enjoy.

    💡 Tips

    • Use thinly sliced pork chops and if you can buy them from your butcher this way, even better.
    • If you want them even thinner, take a piece of plastic wrap and cover them, then pound them out thinner using a meat mallet.
    • Use a meat thermometer to make sure you don't overcook the pork chops. When you fry thin pork chops, the cook very quickly and if you overcook them, they will get dry and chewy very quickly.
    • Sprinkle a little salt over the tops as soon as you take them out of the skillet. This helps the salt to stick and adds a nice salty bite, which is always nice with fried foods.

    ☑️ Storage Instructions

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up 3 days in the fridge or freeze.

🍴 What to Serve with Fried Pork Chops

While these pork chops are so versatile, they will pair perfectly with just about any side, but here are some of my favorite suggestions:

    • Air Fryer Sweet Potatoes
    • Glazed Carrots
    • Garlic Potatoes and Green Beans
    • Cheesy Roasted Cauliflower
    • Air Fryer Baked Potatoes

    🔄 Substitutions and Additions

    • If you can't find Pork Panko in the grocery store, you can make your own by grinding up plain pork rinds in a food processor.
    • To add more flavor to the breading, that isn't classic with Milanese, but still tastes delicious, add in some onion powder and smoked paprika.
    • Add in some dried herbs like dried basil, rosemary or thyme for even more flavor.
    • If you're not a big fan of pork rinds, you can substitute with finely grated parmesan cheese. It will add nice flavor and you'll still get a nice crunchy breading.

    What is a Pork Milanese?

Pork Milanese is a Northern Italian dish that features thin pork chops breaded and fried until crispy, and typically served with fresh lemon wedges.

Can you bake Pork Milanese instead of frying?

Sure you can! Follow the same directions in the recipe, then spray the pork chops with olive oil on both sides. Then place on a wire rack over a baking sheet and bake in a 375°F oven for 10-12 minutes, or until they reach an internal temperature of at least 145°F.

What to eat with Pork Milanese?

Because the flavors are fairly mild, you can serve just about any side dish or salad with them. I have a few of my favorite suggestions listed above.

What cut of pork is best for Milanese?

You'll want to use boneless pork chops. If you have a pork loin, you can slice it thinly yourself and they will turn out perfect. If you do that, put the pork loin in the freezer for about 20 minutes prior to slicing and it will make it easier to slice up.
