    💡 Tips for Making Vinaigrette

    • Allow your ingredients to come to room temperature before you make the dressing. This helps the ingredients blend together easier to create a smoother consistency.
    • Use this recipe as a general guideline when adding the fruit juices. If you prefer one juice to have more prominence over the other, you can easily adjust it. Just make sure you keep the total amount of juice the same as the recipe suggests.
    • Fresh fruit is important, but the quality of the olive oil can make or break the flavor. Choose a good-quality extra virgin olive oil for a rich and savory flavor.

    ☑️ Storage Instructions

Store any leftover dressing in an airtight jar in the refrigerator. Shake or whisk before using it again, as it might separate over time.

🍴 Ways to Use This Vinaigrette

    • Vegetable marinade: Use the vinaigrette as a marinade for grilled vegetables. Coat vegetables like zucchini, bell peppers, and mushrooms before grilling for a flavorful and charred side dish.
    • Vegetable topping: Drizzle some of the dressing over this Air Fryer Asparagus, Sauteed Broccolini, these Air Fryer Roasted Green Beans or any of your favorite grilled, roasted, or air-fried veggies.
    • Chicken or seafood marinade: Marinate chicken breasts, shrimp, or fish fillets in the vinaigrette before grilling or baking. The citrusy and herby flavors add so much to many proteins.
    • Couscous or quinoa salad dressing: Toss cooked couscous or quinoa with the vinaigrette, then add diced vegetables, feta cheese, and fresh herbs for a refreshing and flavorful grain salad.
    • Fruit salads: Lightly drizzle this dressing over fruit salads. It pairs perfectly with tropical fruits like mango, pineapple, and kiwi.
    • Bread dipping sauce: Serve the vinaigrette as a bread dipping sauce alongside some of this homemade braided herb bread.

    🔄 Substitutions and Additions

There are countless ways you can jazz up homemade vinaigrette. Here are a few ideas that you may want to use as inspiration.

    • Honey: Add 1-2 tablespoons of honey for a touch of sweetness. It is great for balancing acidity with a mild, natural sweetness.
    • Spice: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce for a kick of heat.
    • Fresh herbs: Increase the herbs by adding other favorites like parsley, mint, cilantro, or basil.
    • Mango citrus: Give it a tropical twist by adding about ¼ cup of pureed mango.
    • Maple: Add a couple of tablespoons of maple syrup for an earthy sweetness. This pairs well with the Dijon mustard.
    • Greek yogurt: Replace 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil with Greek yogurt for a creamier texture and a tangy taste.
